Global Consumer Insights Associate Internship


Global Consumer Insights is General Mills Marketing Research function.  We strongly believe that superior understanding of the consumer is one key way to outperform the competition and deliver differentiated value to our consumers through synthesizing information, communicating key understandings in an effective and compelling way, and by consistently representing the voice of the consumer!


The Global Consumer Insights team gives our customers a voice in the organization.  The main pillars of our research team include Innovation and Experimentation, Growth Analytics, Shopper Insights, and Strategic Divisional Insights.  The combination of these areas provides a holistic advantage in today’s complex business environment.


As a Global Consumer Insights Associate Intern for the 2015 summer, you will have an opportunity to work as  a full business partner - your role will be to offer consumer-based strategic guidance to a variety of teams and functions.

In addition, the GCI Internship program provides invaluable marketing research experience and exposure to some of the world’s greatest brands.  With a focus on your personal and professional development, you’ll have an opportunity to impact real-world marketing decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Researching and developing innovative new products and effective advertising
  • Improving product features and benefits to deliver added value to our customers and consumers
  • Serve as the voice of the consumer to understand and synthesize consumer preferences, trends, and values
  • Influence key stakeholders, internally and externally, on critical brand and product decisions

MBA or Masters Degree in Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics,  Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or Psychology
