Marketing Vision: Be the Most Advantaged, Effective & Agile Marketing Organization
At General Mills, brand marketing is the focal point from which all general management decisions are made. The Associate Marketing Manager (AMM) position will provide you with great opportunities to both make an immediate impact and leave your legacy on our brands.
Our 12-week AMM Intern program provides outstanding hands-on marketing experience allowing for personal and professional development opportunities. Internship posting is for the 2015 summer.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Develop Brand Strategies: Analyze business and consumer trends, identify key issues facing your business and build and execute innovative marketing and general management plans.
- Drive Innovation: Identify new, innovative ideas to drive brand growth. Develop new product ideas and strategies. Create high-impact promotions, advertising, packaging, sales or operational innovation.
- Provide Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of marketing plan strategies — including advertising, product development, packaging, trade and consumer promotions, and business operations.
- Deliver Financial Management: Provide input into volume, profit and share objectives. Work with the team to manage projects to help deliver against these objectives.
Opportunities & Career Path
As an AMM intern, projects are carefully crafted to ensure real business challenge and impact. You will work within one of our seven operating divisions leading marketing initiatives on beloved brands such as Cheerios, Yoplait, or Chex Mix. In addition to strong project work, marketing interns also participate in multiple development opportunities, such as our monthly Brand Champions “First Wednesday” meetings where you learn about marketing strategies and best practices across the organization. Finally, through formal and informal events throughout the summer, you will have access to – and network with – fellow interns, world-class managers and senior leaders, including our CEO.
MBA with Marketing and/or General Management concentration(s).
