Overview & Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW
This role will be responsible for controls maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and strategic direction across our Minneapolis properties including interaction with Data Center systems. Role would be engaged in any projects that have significant impact to functionality of our BAS or related control systems and would be encouraged to act on improvements to improve employee experience and operational cost. Role would be encouraged to identify additional opportunities for streamlining work and help manage remaining outside labor spend in the area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the management and strategic direction of the Building Automation System Minneapolis wide
- Manage current controls contractor on small to large projects
- Document and report recommended improvements to Building Automation and HVAC systems
- Completes basic software programming using established standards
- Actively pursues additional work through issue identification using the SkySparks application within BAS
- Manages the selection, ordering, budget and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.
- Secures pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors including scope, terms and conditions for projects that are beyond the scope of this role.
- Benchmarking with other partnerships in Minneapolis to drive standards
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- College or trade school degree (Associate’s Degree) in HVAC, controls systems, or mechanical operation
- 3+ years HVAC control system experience; Tridium, Niagara 4, or Automated Logic knowledge strongly desired
- 5+ years technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, AHU’s, VAV’s, boilers, chillers etc.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Niagara AX or N4 Technical Certification preferred
