OVERVIEW

 

The Platform Lead provides safety and servant-based leadership to achieve breakthrough production results on a specific production line/ system. This position is also accountable for developing and delivering the weekly, monthly and 90-day plans to deliver the glidepath through rigorous application of Foundational systems and Driving System Utilization. The Platform Lead is accountable for driving out losses using rigorous Daily Direction Setting and developing the plan for the day. They will have ownership of Safety, Quality, System Utilization (SU), Actual Vs. Commit (AVC) and Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL) systems and Planned Stops.

The Platform Lead owns ensuring the development of the operating teams’ technical capability. A majority of a Platform Lead’s day will be spent on the floor with the operating teams building the capability of the people in their area. This position provides daily direction to the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead to deliver breakthrough results and is ultimately accountable for the results of the line/system. Platform Leads will build capability in the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead roles and must be able to cover their responsibilities in their short-term absence.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership

  • System Owner- Single point accountability for the line/ system results
  • Owns Human and Food safety for the line/system and action plans for improvement
  • Builds capability in production operators, in order to identify, measure and drive out losses on their equipment
  • Support of the developmental plan for the Line Team
  • Owns identifying training gaps for the production operators on the system as well as developing and ensuring execution of training plan to address these gaps
  • Owns DDS process including:
    • Leads daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly – including recognition of team members
    • Leads the development and execution of Plan for the Day – including development and handoff of plan for off shifts
    • Health of CIL system
    • Implementation and evolution of Planned Stops

Loss Elimination

  • Single point of ownership of the 90-Day improvement plan to deliver the glidepath.
  • Facilitates development of the line/system 90-Day Plans to address losses and build capability
  • Owns delivery of line targeted results (including financials)

People Leadership

Manage the shift:

  • On-shift safety, quality of product, execution of shift specific improvement plan actions
  • Daily staffing
  • Directing work of operators
  • Shift Hand-offs
  • Workbrain
  • Temp employee management
  • Onboarding of employees
  • Team Development
  • Own accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics for shift
  • Start-up and changeover execution

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years manufacturing or related experience
  • Working knowledge of data systems including MAXIMO, MQIS, INSQL, and GSTEMS.
  • Demonstrated capability in application of Foundational Systems and Driving SU.
  • Demonstrated basic technical capability on at least one product platform
  • Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous Line Team experience
  • Previous experience in Process Lead role and/or Maintenance Lead role
