OVERVIEW
The Walmart/Sam’s team is seeking a Bakery Product Development Associate to work on the In-Store Fresh team supporting sales efforts to grow General Mills business with Walmart and Sam’s Club bakeries.

As the Bakery Product Development Associate, you will provide technical expertise for the local sales team, and act as an in-house Research and Development (R&D) resource. including customer-facing initiatives. You will leverage your deep product knowledge expertise to help troubleshoot issues and provide solutions for customer challenges or new customer needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Serve as the technical lead for General Mills sales initiatives in support of Sam’s Club and Walmart bakery and/or café
  • Partner with Sam’s and Walmart Sales teams to present and demonstrate initiatives to Sam’s and Walmart buyers
    • Includes product troubleshooting, wiresheet creation, video/photo support, etc.
  • Conduct local baking execution and ad-hoc baking support as needed in the field
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with cross-functional partners (namely Quality, Marketing, and R&D) who support Walmart and Sam’s Convenience & Foodservice (C&F )initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Bakery Operations Lead and Walmart Director of Bakery to ensure excellent communication and execution in support of Walmart initiatives
  • Collaborate with R&D for product testing, validation and innovation
  • Partner with Product Sales Manager to drive process optimization (i.e. baking samples, coordinating product cutings, etc.)
  • Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Bakery experience
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite & sharepoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical General Mills Convenience & Foodservice Product Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years baking experience in a teaching setting
  • Experience working with WM and Sam’s
  • Product development experience
  • Cross-boundary effectiveness
  • Experience with Photoshop or Pro-Spec
