Business Intelligence Architect- Reporting Tools

Overview & Responsibilities

The BI Architect role drives discovery, execution and standards around tool assessments, strategic roadmaps and piloting.  The BI Architect role will provide leadership, strategic decision making and guidance within Enterprise Data Capabilities including partnering with the technical executional resources to understand and solve unique and complex problems as well as partnering with the broader organization to ensure best practice sharing & adherence of standards.  S/he will interface with other IT Architects, Solutions Development and the Enterprise Data Services organization for evaluation and implementation of tools to support key capabilities.

Enterprise Data Capabilities aims to realize organizational value through focusing on effective and efficient Business Intelligence Tools, both on-premise and cloud based.  A strong portfolio of analytic tools is the foundation to build & usage of our analytic capabilities & solutions.  This role focuses on identifying and implementing scaled and self-serve BI Tools as well as their integration into our larger enterprise solutions.

• Investigate technology trends & lead discovery of any new tools/capabilities of interest
• Benchmarks Analytic Standards with Industry analysts and other companies
• Perform end to end BI Tool portfolio assessments, including overall architecture, capabilities, platforms, tools & governing processes on-premise and Cloud based
• Create and own BI Tool Roadmap
• Establish & define metrics to gauging use and value of specific tools
• Consult & communicates positioning/go-forward strategies for tools to support analytic capabilities
• Communicates governance standards & framework to ensure alignment to enterprise guidelines for security, auditability, data governance, metadata management, etc.
• Define/improve implementation and upgrade practices to minimize user interruptions
• Reviews analytic solutions for re-usability, scalability, synergy opportunities & alignment to defined best practices & guidelines

Qualifications

Domain Expertise
• 7 years demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in designing and developing complex, high-quality analytic solutions
• 2 years building analytic solutions in the cloud
• Experience in business requirements analysis and mapping it to the analytic technology solutions
• Experience in breadth of Analytic technologies, including solutions leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Cloud and Reporting/Visualization capabilities

Agile/Digital Experience
• Experience in Agile Development, with specific analyst (or similar) experience preferred
• Ability to phase the delivery of analytic solutions such that it can meet immediate needs, while building towards the long-term strategic solution
• Understands and adheres to data and analytic governance principles

Individual Experience
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a digestible way
• Ability to effortlessly switch gears from summary view for leadership to hands-on discussion with practitioners
