Overview & Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Digital Forensics Manager is responsible for digital evidence collection and analysis to support employee investigations and eDiscovery at General Mills. The position is responsible for managing the technology and budget for the digital forensics lab. The manager will partner with key stakeholders: Law, Investigation, HR, and IT to ensure their needs are met effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with various stakeholders in Global Security, Ethics & Compliance, Human Resources, Employee Relations and the Law Department to acquire, preserve, and analyze digital evidence for investigations and eDiscovery in a global environment
  • Interact with stakeholders to provide investigative findings and to explain the connections between discovered artifacts and other facts in the matter under investigation
  • Utilize proper chain of custody procedures throughout the life of investigations
  • Manage configuration and deployment of digital forensic tools and applications in the digital forensics lab
  • Manage budgets and vendor relationships for tools in the forensics lab
  • Partner with teams in IT to develop and maintain procedures for forensic investigations & eDiscovery
  • Oversee developing, documenting, and refining procedures for digital forensic capabilities that are aligned with industry standard best practices
  • Ensure strategy and future of forensic and eDiscovery process is aligned with industry best practices and emerging technologies
  • Align practices with applicable privacy regulationsPartner with stakeholders to ensure support of processes and procedures
  • Develop investigative theory/strategy, align resources/stakeholders
  • Manage team of 1 direct report
  • Provide technical development opportunities for the team 
  • Collaborate with the team to develop shared and individual priorities and share regular feedback with individual team members 
  • Perform administrative activities including development of individual priorities, performance appraisals, individual develop plans  
  • Maintain existing and develops new contacts within the candidate’s professional network of cyber security peers and leading security consultants/vendors.
  • Continuously develops knowledge of evolving best practices through peer benchmarking, industry events/associations, and educational opportunities.
  • Leverages partnership and relationships to benchmark existing and proposed cyber security solutions.
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of relevent experience
  • Deep understanding and expertise in conducting digital investigations, including the presentation of written investigative findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Understanding of typical litigation support workflows and process requirements as well as all associated technologies
  • Techniques to identify and preserve data in connection with digital forensic investigations and eDiscovery within cloud environments, including Office 365 (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
  • Proficiency with digital forensic toolsets such as Axiom, Nuix, and Encase
  • Experience with common operating systems (Windows, Linux/UNIX, MacOS), disk encryption platforms (e.g. Bitlocker), and their filesystems (NTFS, XFS, HFS+, APFS, exFAT)

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Preferred professional certifications in digital forensics/incident response such as;
    • Certified Computer Examiner (CCE),
    • Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE),
    • GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA),
    • GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE),
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • Master’s degree
  • Experinece with digital forensics for incident reponse
