Overview & Responsibilities

Join the IT Software Asset Management team as a Software Asset Management Analyst! This highly motivated, self-starter will be a software license management expert providing guidance on acceptable licensing practices. They will also be required to effectively communicate with all levels of management and influence decisions/outcomes. Responsibilities will include assisting in internal and external audits, designing and documenting workflows, making appropriate recommendations that will positively impact operational effectiveness as well as initiating projects associated to software asset management governance and processes. The Analyst will work with a wide and dynamic range of global colleagues, software, and projects requiring software asset management expertise or consultation. Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate a high level of independence, self-management, and superior communication.

75% of Time

The candidate will perform all SAM functions daily within the following areas:
 Analyze Software Licensing and terms
 Understand entitlement and usage
 Provide clear and concise guidance on acceptable licensing practices
 Track license and compliance for top publishers
 Highlight risk and opportunities
 Coordinate with Solution Manager / Application owner
 Capture software renewal
 Work with reseller and Managed Services Partner
 Support M&A activity
 Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standard global procedures, tools, and practice in support of proper software asset management activities
The candidate will also maintain accurate licensing information, create and maintain process documents for SAM in the SAM Portal and partner with the Software Delivery Services team, Procurement Shared Services and Packaging team.

The candidate should be a quick learner as well as have strong customer service skills articulating policies and procedures confidently, attention to detail, excellent communication and troubleshooting skills, ability to work under tight timelines.

15 % of Time

Software Audits – Work on Internal and external audits from SAM side in partnership with Sourcing and other stake holders highlight risk and opportunities.

10 %  of Time

Ensure that all team documentation is maintained and updated.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Preferred Major Area of Study: Computers
Preferred Professional Certifications: CSAM

Experience

Minimum years of related experience required: 3 years
Preferred years of related experience: 4 years
Preferred experience with ServiceNOW Software Asset Management Professional (SAMPro) or another Software Asset Management solution such as Flexera 1 year
Preferred experience with a major publisher (Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, IBM) or complex license metrics 1 year

– Strong verbal and written communication skills
