Overview & Responsibilities

This position is for Demand Chain Solution Development – Strategic Revenue Management Team. SD DC organization caters to various Sales/Marketing teams across the globe in areas like Digital Analytics, Content, Brand Design, SRM, Trade etc. SRM Team works on supporting the Revenue Management initiatives across General Mills Segments globally.

This person will work with other analytical professionals and end clients in other countries. As part of this team, you will be given a business problem and your job is to define the analytical techniques and data to use to answer those business problems. Some example projects this team works on includes:
• Anomaly detection
• Competitor identifier
• Price and Promotion optimizations
• Product line optimization recommendations

Your role is to understand what the end business user needs, develop an analysis plan, execute that plan and provide an articulate story back to the client so they can consume and act because of the insights from the analysis. A successful candidate will:
• Have experience in a wide variety of analytics including clustering, regression, experiment design, time series forecasting and other statistical analyses.
• Know how to translate complicated analytical techniques to non-technical audiences.

90% of Time Operational Responsibilities
– Conduct statistical analyses for specific projects to support market / consumer research efforts using survey data and/or existing data (e.g., syndicated data) Provide clear verbal and written explanations of key conclusions that can be drawn based on the analyses conducted.
– Own specific analytic infrastructure relating to mission-critical statistical approaches, especially those involving “automated” syntax tools such as SPSS.
– Apply Analysis and modelling to develop, validate and challenge assumptions underlying potential price, promotion and pack strategies.
– Build process efficiencies into analytic procedures as opportunities present themselves to provide swifter analyses with higher accuracy.
– Be able to explore large data sets and proactively make recommendations for an analysis plan and follow-through with the proposed plan.
– Analyze study results, create insights and develop complete story

Qualifications

Education
Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study: Statistics, Mathematics, Economics/Econometrics

Experience
Minimum years of related experience required: 4 years – analytics experience; experience with building statistical/predictive models is desired.
Preferred years of related experience: 4-6 years – analytics experience; experience with building statistical/predictive models is desired.

Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed
– Experience conducting advanced analytics; specific capabilities to be considered include:
o Regression Analysis (both Linear & Non-Linear varieties)
o Data Reduction & Segmentation methods
o Applying Bayesian statistical techniques would be a plus.
– Experience using R/R Studio
– Experience with another language would be a plus – Python, SAS, SQL etc.
– Experience working & collaborating with others to build effective plans for conducting analysis based on project needs.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Preferably MS-Excel, MS-Power point)
– Exceptional analytical, organizational/prioritization and communications skills (written and verbal)
– Prior Experience in CPG industry/Nielsen working on Pricing Analytics preferred
