Overview & Responsibilities

General Mills is seeking to hire a strategy professional to join our Corporate Strategy team.   The group’s purpose is to lead development and implementation of enterprise strategy for General Mills with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.  We are seeking thought leaders who are enthusiastic about the potential strategic options facing General Mills.  We are looking for professionals with experience in consumer packaged goods and have demonstrated the ability to influence at the most senior levels of an organization. 

  • Support the planning and execution of the strategic planning process, including:
    • Guide end-to-end strategy development and adjustments to existing strategies based upon new learning and changes in the competitive environment.
    • Evaluate the portfolio and make recommendations on changes to the focus and resource allocation.
    • Identify and deconstruct business issues and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analyses.
    • Develop the process to cascade strategies and ensure annual business plans are in support of the corporate strategy.
  • Perform analysis informed by external consumer, competitive, and macroeconomic / geopolitical trends.
  • Prepare “executive ready” project deliverables and manage communication with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • MBA from a top-tier business school.
  • Approximately two years post-MBA, including experience in a strategy consulting firm (Bain, BCG, McKinsey, etc.).
  • Experience with consumer goods industry including understanding of market, customer, competitor and innovation trends (may include food, packaged goods, or personal care).
  • Experience working in the context of a large, complex, global organization, where working across boundaries and leading through influence are keys to success.
  • Global perspective is a plus, ideally with experience working outside of the U.S.
