Overview & Responsibilities

This individual will collaborate with all Global Security teams to understand intelligence requirements and present key insights. This will be accomplished through the collection, analysis, and distribution of actionable products relating to security threats that have the potential to adversely affect General Mills.

MONITORING: 

  • Manage, maintain, and evaluate all Global Security intelligence vendors, databases, and sources; understanding their strengths and limitations to leverage their capabilities effectively.
  • Monitor global geopolitical events that may impact international travel, company events, and/or operations, and provide periodic and timely information.
  • Maintain awareness of issues that could affect business operations or the security of personnel and assets (e.g. terrorism, violent crime, natural disasters, travel issues, criminal trends, civil unrest, cyber-attacks, workplace violence).
  • Conduct regular monitoring of online open source intelligence, social media platforms, the dark web, and vendor tools for known and potential threats to General Mills.

ANALYSIS: 

  • Work closely with key stakeholders across Global Security to ensure threat intelligence analysis and products are mapped to prioritized company assets and risks.
  • Leverage consumer, market, competitive, and industry information to develop and maintain intelligence about key and emerging trends.
  • Serve as a consultant in proactively developing insights and intelligence in service of the company’s existing and future strategic direction.
  • Develop cyber expertise on adversaries; attack trends; and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for threat actors that could target General Mills.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Create content and produce intelligence reports and deliverables using a variety of internal and external sources for different teams.
  • Rapidly communicate emerging incidents and crises.
  • Deliver briefings tailored to key stakeholders.

PARTNERSHIPS & BENCHMARKING: 

  • Enable other teams within Global Security with the tools and information needed to support investigations, events, and incidents.
  • Build partnerships with internal strategic business partners and stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with external governmental, law enforcement, academic, and private sector professionals.
  • Stays current with trends, analytical techniques, tools, and tradecraft
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years in roles with relevant or similar responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Intelligence experience in either the private or public sector.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Demonstrated success influencing without authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to get things done both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Able to independently drive structure out of ambiguity, connect dots across disparate insights, and structure synthesized output.
  • Able to communicate intelligence and analysis of security threats effectively in various forms with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to develop specific expertise, discern patterns of complex threat actor behavior, and communicate an understanding of current and developing security threats.
  • Able to synthesize and clearly communicate complex findings to focus on critical issues and actionable opportunities.
  • Able to translate security and geopolitical risks into insights for key stakeholders
  • Understands how corporations operate in the global economy and is familiar operational risk concerns to international businesses.
  • Able to work in an ambiguous environment and operate independently.
  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn with a strong inclination to drive for results in ambiguous spaces
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively present to a wide range of audiences (senior leadership executive summaries to global all-hands updates)
  • Able to influence through relationship building and executive presence
  • Self-starter, proactive, demonstrated self, and team motivator
  • Prior experience with information technology and/or information security.
