Overview & Responsibilities

FUNCTION/POSITION OVERVIEW

General Mills is seeking a Sr. Developer (Stibo STEP) to join the General Mills Product Information Capabilities organization. This individual will support both a Product MDM solution, and help scale up a Digital Product Publishing (PIM) solution to new businesses and markets; meeting the needs of internal, retail and eCommerce partners. This team member will be a bridge between the upstream MDM data collection processes/attribution and the downstream digital product needs as part of a cross-functional team including business and technical resources. This team member will also likely have accountabilities in coordinating work with both strategic and technical consulting 3rd parties.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expand the technical leadership in the General Mills Data Management organization, including Product MDM and Digital Product Publishing (PIM)
  • Expand our Stibo MDM and PIM solutions including the architectural design, integration to SAP and non-SAP systems
  • Collaboratively develop the technology & capability roadmaps for Product Data at General Mills
  • Collaboratively define overall MDM and PIM standards, guidelines, and best practices
  • Participate in the evaluation, implementation and deployment of tools and processes
  • Partner with business analysts and enterprise architects to develop technical architectures for global expansion
  • Analyze business requirements; construct the processes and data flows to support the requirements
  • Lead design, code & process review sessions to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and performance guidelines
  • Collaboratively troubleshoot technical and performance issues in the MDM & PIM STEP ecosystem
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Computer Science, MIS, or Business preferred
  • 5 years of IT experience, 7+ preferred
  • 3 years of hands-on experience working as a Stibo STEP engineer, or other leading MDM or PIM solutions
  • Experience working directly with business clients to design a solution that meets business requirements; ability to clearly articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms and architectural options, as well as being able to document use cases, solutions and recommendations
  • Experience with tools and concepts related to MDM and/or Digital Product Publishing, such as data governance, data quality, data integration and data exporting
  • Experience using MDM technology in an SAP environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills
  • Effective analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment
  • Ability to research, plan, organize, lead, and implement new processes or technology 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience implementing Stibo STEP MDM solution
  • Experience integrating Stibo STEP MDM solution with Digital Publishing in STEP
  • Experience with GDSN attribution & data syndication
  • Familiarity with Service Bus integration
  • Experience with agile techniques or methods
  • Experience in Consumer Goods industry
