Overview & Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Wellston Initiatives Leader is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the snacks platform. This includes serving the support staff and a team of approximately 190 production employees and 40 mechanics. The Initiatives Leader plays an integral role in maintaining a business partnership by providing a critical link between the plant leadership group and Minneapolis business teams while also driving a Zero Loss Culture across the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the execution of prioritized initiatives across the platform to achieve business results
  • Leverage influence and project management skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams (plant floor to business team) to achieve objectives
  • Guide, educate, coach, develop and motivate work group to deliver results
  • Create an environment where employees are developed and encouraged to reach their full potential in meeting department/business goals
  • Relentless focus on zero for both human and food safety and system reliability
  • Develop short and long term strategies to drive improvements in key plant priorities and metrics
  • Ensure the proper selection, training, development and motivation of the team to maximize current and future performance
  • Lead and support plant continuous improvement initiatives
  • Model the Company and Plant’s Behaviors and Values

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3 years of experience 

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant
  • Track record of delivering strong results
  • Ability to create and lead strategic initiatives
  • Ability to influence internal and external partners to make decisions that enable business results
  • Project management and execution experience
