Overview & Responsibilities

Position: Consultant (CPW)

Function: Global Consumer Insights.

 

CPW team at GCI works on harmonization of data across 52+ markets to produce one consolidated Global data warehouse hosted on MS Azure which is used for Global performance evaluation of our brands & track the competitive space.

 

We are looking for someone to lead analytical and data science projects for us. This candidate will work with stakeholders and other analytical professionals across the Globe to understand business problem and define the analytical techniques to answer these.

 

We expect the candidate to:

  • understand what the end business user needs, develop an analysis plan, execute that plan and provide & articulate story back to the client so they can consume and take action
  • have experience in a wide variety of advanced analytics techniques including clustering, regression, time series forecasting and other statistical analyses. Marketing Mix Modelling is a plus.
  • Know when to use advanced analytics, and know when not to use advanced analytics to meet business requirements
  • Know how to translate complicated analytical techniques to non-technical audiences.

 

Some examples of projects we expect are:

  • Forecasting future growth in sales of Category or Segments
  • Determining the potential size of new products launched
  • Price & Promo Analytics
  • NPD Incrementality estimation
  • Text Analytics

90% of time:

Operational Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder management
  • Probe to understand the underlying Business question from stakeholders and share relevant insights that drives impact to the Business
  • Share insights proactively & frequently using the pool of data available
  • Gain expertise in using the tools developed in-house
  • Conduct statistical analyses using the rich pool of data to provide clear verbal and written explanations or key conclusions based on the analyses conducted
  • Own specific analytic infrastructure relating to mission-critical statistical approaches
  • Build process efficiencies into analytic procedures as opportunities present themselves to provide swifter analyses with higher accuracy
  • Be able to explore large data sets and proactively make recommendations for an analysis plan and follow-through with the proposed plan.
  • Integrate other learning as appropriate
  • Provide the “story” not just the data
  • Independent & End to End project management on multiple projects undertaken.

10% of time:

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Identify process improvement areas.
  • Leverage Continuous Improvement tool to eliminate waste in the process
  • Serve as a statistical resource for the Global & Regional teams

Education:

Minumim:Masters

Preferred: Masters or Ph.D.-level degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics/Econometrics.

Expereince:

Minimum: 7-8 years – analytics experience; experience with building statistical/predictive models is desired.

Preffered: 9+ years- – analytics experience; experience with building statistical/predictive models is desired.

Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Syndicated research (Point of Sale)
  • Story telling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders together
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite with strong excel ideally with VBA
  • Experience using SQL and R
  • Experience conducting advanced analytics with specific capabilities like:
    • Regression Analysis (both Linear & Non-Linear varieties)
    • Market Mix Modelling
  • Prior Experience in CPG industry/Nielsen preferred
  • Experience working and collaborating with others to build effective plans for conducting analysis based on needs of the project.
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem solving skill
