Overview & Responsibilities

As a Packaging and Logistics Technology Engineer, you will provide packaging and logistics competitive advantage through technical expertise, flexible business solutions and proprietary technology. The Packaging and Logistics Technology Engineer role supports all packaging and logistics technology platforms to deliver Food and Human Safety solutions, HMM, technology innovation, customer solutions and capacity creation in new and existing channels.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Subject matter expertise on logistics operations interaction with inventory control systems (WMS, ERP, other)
  • Establish, document, and train logistics standard work concepts for material receipts, line supply, and shipping
  • Provide packaging and logistics technology support for growth, capacity, cost savings and quality initiatives
  • Partner with Packaging Engineering, R&D, Logistics Operations and Supply Chain partners on packaging and logistics technology needs for business supported capital projects and initiatives
  • Partner with business teams and supply chain resources to proactively align on long term packaging and logistics technology needs and communicate development progress
  • Leverage vertical start-up processes to support capital projects and plant tests as required
  • Travel to manufacturing sites, suppliers, service providers, and trade shows as required to participate in knowledge sharing and enable business growth
  • Partner with strategic external partners to build network of technology development ideas and suppliers
  • Travel up to 30% as business needs demand
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering. ABET Accredited Engineering degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with Manufacturing, Quality and Research functions leading technical early management and commercialization efforts for packaging and/or logistics technology
  • Experience in plant operations and industrial environments – understanding packaging and logistics equipment design and impacts on materials, labor and work processes
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food/human safety (GMP’s, Food Safety, LOTO, sanitation & safe designs)
  • Knowledge of design and operating principles of material handling equipment (lift trucks, racking, pallet conveyor)
